Tutor-Saliba is a leader in design-build delivery having completed nearly $2 billion in design-build projects over the past decade. Design-build is a method for project delivery that establishes a single point of responsibility, creates a cooperative team with the contractor and designer, reduces claims, and offers significant time and cost savings. By working together, the team can be innovative in finding ways to quickly resolve issues that emerge. Design-Build also allows faster work completion at substantial cost savings compared to the traditional process of design-bid-build. Some of the nation's largest, most complex projects have employed the Design-Build method.
Some of the design-build projects we have completed are the $783 million Alameda Corridor a railroad transportation corridor including 10-mile-long trench and 29 concrete bridges; $710 million BART Extension to San Francisco International Airport including a 8.5-mile line and track extension in subway, at -grade, and aerial configurations with 2 passenger terminals in South San Francisco and San Bruno; $112 million Oakland-Alameda Coliseum a fast-track stadium reconfiguration including new bleacher seating, luxury suites, club facilities, press boxes, and high resolution video and matrix display boards; $82 million Oakland-Alameda Arena a fast-track reconstruction that significantly increasing seating capacity including club seats and luxury suites, press boxes, and team concession facilities; and the $90 million Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum historic rehabilitation which included lowering the playing field, adding permanent seating, rebuilding the locker rooms and press box, and significantly reinforcing and repairing the structural system.
